Equine Massage & Bodywork
SERVICES & RATES
Payment is due at time of service. Upping Stone accepts cash, check, and credit card (processing fees apply). Checks made payable to 'Maribeth Mills' or 'Upping Stone'. Massage and bodywork are not a substitute for veterinary care.
An initial consultation at your home barn is encouraged prior to regular maintenance. A consultation includes a thorough health and training history, gait analysis, palpation of soft tissue, full massage session, and documentation of findings. It is important to remember that this is your horse's introduction to massage. While tension will be found and released, it often takes up to three sessions for the benefits of massage to be fully realized. Following the consultation, you will be emailed a description of findings as well as recommendations for maintenance tailored to your horse's needs.
For more information on what to expect before, during, and after your session, please visit What to Expect.

Upping Stone offers the
Wilson-Meagher Method of Equine Sportsmassage which combines a series of specific soft tissue applications based in anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology to restore muscles and other systems of the body to maximum efficiency. Masterson Method Integrated Bodywork techniques and stretching may also be incorporated into the massage sequence as needed. Maintenance sessions are structured to help a horse stay healthy at an established work level for as long and as safely as possible by decreasing muscular tension. Ideal for performance and pleasure horses alike.

Pre- and post-event sessions promote optimal performance and reduce recovery time. These sessions provide a general loosening performed at the showgrounds. Pre-event sessions should be scheduled within 7 hours of your first class, while post-event sessions should be scheduled 1 to 48 hours after your last class.
*It is recommended that your horse's first experience with massage is not at the showgrounds as the release of tension may alter your horse’s way of going and both you and your horse will need time to adapt.
*A minimum number of horses scheduled at the same event may be required for weekend hours and/or travel beyond 20 miles of 24018.
